We understand that breast size can affect a woman’s confidence and self-esteem. Our doctors always have your personal health in mind and want to help you achieve your desired results and enhance your self-confidence. When discussing your options, our doctors will recommend the safest and most natural choice for you to achieve a better balance for your body.
What is Breast Augmentation?
Breast augmentation, technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, is the surgical placement of breast implants to increase fullness and projection of the breasts or to improve symmetry of the breasts. The procedure is used cosmetically to:
Enlarge a naturally small breast, most commonly the result of heredity
Restore breast volume lost following pregnancy, as a result of breast-feeding or due to weight loss
Achieve better symmetry when breasts are moderately disproportionate in size and shape
If you are looking to enhance your breast fullness, correct sagging or improve the position or shape of the breast, we recommend a breast lift in conjunction with the breast augmentation.

In your consultation, your options will be discussed to decide the safest and most natural choice for you. Your breast anatomy, body type and desired increase in size will help determine the implant placement, type and size.
The implant will be made of medical-grade, biocompatible, textured or smooth silicone shells filled with a sterile saline solution or silicone gel. The method of inserting and positioning your implant will depend on your body type and our recommendation for you. The incision can be made either in the crease where the breast meets the chest, around the areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple), or in the armpit. Once you’ve met with your doctor and discussed your goals, he can recommend what would be the best fit for you.
We realize that scarring may be a concern for you when choosing where to have the incision. We assure you that during the surgery, every effort is made so that the incision is placed where scarring will be as inconspicuous as possible.
Recovery is an important aspect when making the decision about breast enlargement. We realize that you may lead a busy life – whether you are a mom, professional or both – and the amount of recovery time is crucial. Below, you can gain a better understanding of your recovery time.
Within days of surgery, the patient may return to light, normal activity, but with no heavy lifting
Initial wound healing may take five to ten days, at which time you will be ready to return to work and resume normal activity, but with no heavy lifting
Soreness of the breasts will usually go away within three to four weeks
Intimate contact with breasts may resume within four to six weeks
Healing will continue for several weeks as the swelling goes down, implant position settles and incision lines continue to refine
It is important to follow your doctor’s instructions to heal properly and ensure the greatest results. It is crucial to take time for yourself and rest. Remember, you are doing this for you.
